Un hôtel Shangri-La devrait ouvrir à Mumbai en Inde en 2011 sur le lieu d'une ancienne usine de coton.
Shangri-La gèrera cet hôtel de 410 chambres pour le compte du groupe Pallazzio Hotel eand Leisure.
L'hôtel fait parti d'un projet immobilier baptisé Steet Phoenix et comprendra plusieurs restaurants, un spa, un centre de fitness, une piscine ainsi qu'une salle de bal et des espaces pour les conférences.
La chaîne d'hôtel Shangri-La a ouvert un hôtel à New Delhi en 2005.
En 2011, la chaîne prévoit d'ouvrir deux autres hôtels à Bangalore en Inde, le Shangri-La Bangalore et le Palm Retreat Shangri-La.
